Founded in 1889 (Meiji 22), this sake brewery is located in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture, the top production area for "Yamada Nishiki" rice in Japan. The name "Aoi" comes from the crest of Matsuo Taisha Shrine in Kyoto, which is revered as the foremost sake brewing deity in Japan. Using local sake rice, they aim to produce sake that brings out the deliciousness of the rice. Their 100% Yamada Nishiki junmai sake is characterized by its full-bodied flavor and lingering finish. Furthermore, they have been members of the "Long-Term Aged Sake Research Association" for 35 years, working on the aging of Japanese sake. In 2022 and 2023, they won the Silver Award at the International Wine Challenge, one of the world's largest alcoholic beverage competitions, for two consecutive years. They will continue to spread the deliciousness of aged Japanese sake to the world.
