Our brewery is located on the border between Shiga and Mie prefectures, in Koka city, known as the home of the Koka Ninja. Long ago, around 1764, our ancestors were brewing sake under the name "Takaraichi," but the quality of the sake was not very good, and they were at their wit's end. They sought divine guidance from the local "Yamamura Shrine" and dug a well, whereupon unparalleled quality water began to flow nearby. The sake brewed with this and Omi rice, a famous rice-producing region, was so delicious that they renamed it "Kamihiraki" (Sake made by divine guidance) instead of "Takaraichi," and has continued to do so to this day.
