Founded in 1658, we have a history of over 360 years of sake brewing in Otsu, a rice distribution and transit point famous for its "Otsu Sake." Our brand name, "Asajio," was named after a waka poem bestowed upon our family in 1677 by Prince Shogoin no Miya Michihiro, son of Emperor Gomizunoo. We cherish each and every winter, adhering to traditional handcrafting methods, striving to create sake that is "unique to our brewery." We also hope to transform the digital age of sake brewing into an analog one, so that the warmth of our hands can be conveyed to those who enjoy our sake.
