Founded over 400 years ago, this long-established sake brewery has been making sake at the foot of Mount Ikoma in Nara, Japan's ancient capital, for 19 generations since its founder, Sohei Ueda. Blessed with the climate and environment of Mount Ikoma, located on the border of Osaka and Nara, they continue to brew sake with the motto "cherishing ancient traditions while exploring modern styles." The brand name "Kicho" was chosen with the wish that good fortune will last a long time.
