Founded over 400 years ago, this long-established sake brewery has been making its living from sake at the foot of Mt. Ikoma in Nara, the ancient capital of Japan, and has been in business for 19 generations since the founder, Ueda Sobei. With Mt. Ikoma at the backdrop, on the border between Osaka and Nara, and blessed with a great climate and environment, the brewery continues to make sake with the motto of "cherishing traditional styles while exploring modern styles." The brand name "Ukachō" was chosen with the hope that happiness will continue for a long time.
