Established in 1874 (Meiji 7), this is the only sake brewery in Kakogawa City, currently run by two master brewers. After a period as a subcontractor for large sake breweries, they revived "Seiten," the famous sake produced at the time of their founding, in 2010 (Heisei 22). The name comes from the Meiji Restoration and the enthronement ceremony. They brew approximately 20,000 liters annually, with everything from bottle washing to bottling done by hand. They offer four standard types: Josen, Tokubetsu Junmai, Junmai Ginjo, and Daiginjo, as well as unpasteurized sake and cloudy sake, and some of their sakes use rice grown in their own fields. Committed to local production and consumption and handcrafted production, their sakes, made with the groundwater of the Class A river Kakogawa and sake rice from Hyogo Prefecture, have a light taste and a balanced sweet and dry flavor. Widely loved by locals, they continue to captivate new fans. In 2020, it received an Excellence Award in the warm sake category at the Osaka Regional Taxation Bureau's Sake Tasting Competition.
