The brewery started brewing sake in 1874 (Meiji 7), and is the only sake brewery in Kakogawa City, currently managed by two master brewers. After a period of subcontracting to major sake breweries, in 2010 (Heisei 22), they revived the famous sake "Seiten" that was produced at the time of the company's founding. The name comes from the Imperial Enthronement of the Emperor during the Meiji Restoration. They brew about 20,000 liters per year, and everything from bottle washing to bottling is done by hand. They offer four standard types of sake: Josen, Tokubetsu Junmai, Junmai Ginjo, and Daiginjo, as well as unpasteurized sake and nigori sake, and some of their sakes use sake rice grown in their own fields. They are committed to local production and consumption and handmade brewing, and produce a variety of sakes with light tastes and a sweet and spicy taste that are moderate, using underground water from the Kakogawa River, a first-class river, and sake rice grown in Hyogo Prefecture. They are widely loved by local people and continue to attract more fans. In 2020, it won the Excellence Award in the warm sake category at the Osaka Regional Taxation Bureau Sake Tasting Competition.
