Located in Imai-cho, Kashihara City, a townscape that retains its medieval character, this is the only remaining sake brewery, and has been in business for approximately 300 years. Its trade name is Jobonjiya, and its main building is designated as a National Important Cultural Property. Currently, the 16th generation owner serves as the brewery's master brewer, carefully producing small batches of sake. Their flagship brand, "Shusse Otoko" (meaning "man who succeeds"), is popular for its auspicious name. It can be enjoyed as a food pairing, especially with Japanese cuisine and local specialties like persimmon leaf sushi.
