Founded in 1620 by the founder Mugiya Jinbei, we have been brewing sake in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture for around 400 years. Our brand name "Ichinotani" was named after a haiku poem that a Kyoto haiku poet read when he stopped by in the early Meiji period. We use groundwater that has been selected as one of Japan's 100 famous waters and high-quality rice, and we do not mass-produce our sake, instead carefully crafting it with quality as our top priority. Every year, we win awards at many competitions, including the National New Sake Tasting Competition and the Kanazawa Regional Taxation Bureau Sake Tasting Competition.
