Founded in 1874 (Meiji 4), the company started with the brand name "Oeyama" in what is now Kanie-cho, Ama-gun, Aichi Prefecture. From the Taisho era to the early Showa era, the brand was "Saiai," and after the war, it became "Suisen." The western Owari region is blessed with the Ibuki wind, the groundwater of the Kiso River, and high-quality sake rice, and has long been a thriving center for sake brewing.
