Founded in 1903 (Meiji 36), the company launched "Sonno" in 1933 (Showa 8). Since then, it has become an established brand of Sonno Brewery. During the Heisei era, when sake breweries across the country were swept up in the decline, the company found a way forward by focusing on sake brewing that was "local." Using local rice and local brewers, they developed a new brand of pure, locally produced sake. They have also further evolved their main brand, "Sonno," and have continued to pursue an authentic taste. Inheriting a historical brand, they never stand still, and aim to provide sake that is suited to the new era.
