The company was founded in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1753 by an Omi merchant originally from Shiga Prefecture. The current main brand, "Kyoto no Yume," was named after the essay "Kyoto no Yume, Osaka no Yume" by the author Junichiro Tanizaki, who was a close friend of the 8th generation owner. Currently, the company brews a wide range of sake, from daiginjo to regular sake. Brewed to a slightly dry taste suitable for drinking with meals, and with minimal filtration, you can enjoy the fruity aroma and umami.
