The company was founded in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1753 by an Omi merchant originally from Shiga Prefecture. The current main brand, "Kyoto no Yume," was named after the essay "Kyoto no Yume, Osaka no Yume" by the writer Junichiro Tanizaki, who was a friend of the 8th generation owner. Currently, the company brews a wide range of sake, from daiginjo to regular sake. The sake is brewed to be slightly dry, suitable for drinking with meals, and by keeping filtration to a minimum, you can enjoy the fruity aroma and flavor.
