Founded in 1819 (Bunsei 2), Hatsumomiji is a sake brewery in Yamaguchi Prefecture that is celebrating its 205th year this year. With the slogan "The seasons of Japan can be enjoyed through sake," they aim to create sake that allows people to enjoy the seasons reflected in their drinks. All the rice used in their sake brewing is from Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is a pure rice sake that is native to Yamaguchi and made with locally sourced ingredients. With the desire to deliver a fresh taste that is always freshly pressed, they brew sake year-round. Although they temporarily suspended sake brewing in 1985 (Showa 60), they resumed in 2003 (Heisei 15) and started the brand "Harada" with the desire to cherish the connections that have been passed down from their ancestors.
