Founded in 1819 (Bunsei 2), Hatsumomiji is a sake brewery in Yamaguchi Prefecture that celebrates its 205th anniversary this year. With the catchphrase "Drink the seasons of Japan," the brewery aims to create sake that allows customers to enjoy the seasons reflected in the sake. All of the rice used in its brewing is produced in Yamaguchi Prefecture. This pure rice sake is made with a focus on local ingredients, and is a Yamaguchi native. Hoping to deliver a fresh, freshly pressed taste at any time, the brewery practices a four-season brewing method, brewing sake year-round. While sake brewing was temporarily suspended in 1985, it resumed in 2003, and launched the brand "Harada" in the hopes of cherishing the connection to its ancestors.
