According to documents on sake trading preserved in our family, our business was founded in 1695 (Genroku 8). This was around the time when Hida became a territory directly controlled by the shogunate and the shogunate issued an order to demolish Takayama Castle. Since we originally lived in Ishikawa Prefecture, our family business name is "Kagaya," and the name "Kagaya" is dyed onto the noren (curtain) at our entrance. The current owner is the 16th generation of this long-established business. The brand name "Ryomen Sukuna" refers to a legendary figure with two faces and four arms and legs. Behind his gentle expression lies a face harboring anger. Ryomen Sukuna, who appeared in Hida in ancient times, is shrouded in mystery.
