Founded in 1924 in the mountains of Hagi City (formerly Kawakami Village), Yamaguchi Prefecture, near the scenic spot "Chomonkyo," the brewery relocated to its current location upstream of Hagi City in 1970 due to the construction of the Abugawa Dam. The name of the sake, Chomonkyo, originates from the name of this scenic spot. This sake is nurtured by the clear waters of Nagatokyo, which flows through the village of the Meiji Restoration. The brewery is dedicated to maximizing the deliciousness of the rice and creating sake that resonates with people and complements a variety of dishes and occasions.
