The brewery is located in Tomitadoi, at the confluence of the Jindai River and the Tomita River, which flow at the foot of Mt. Eigenzan. The 4th generation Kunigoro was the founder in 1823, and since then, the 11th generation has been dedicated to sake brewing. The name of the sake "Kotobuki" was originally called "Kotohogi" in ancient times, and was used in celebrations and ceremonies in hopes of long life. Locally, it is known as Tsuru Kame Kotobuki (crane, turtle, and longevity) due to the label design, and it has been a favorite of sake lovers for a long time.
