Located at Tomita-Doi, the confluence of the Jindai River and Tomita River at the foot of Mount Eigen, our brewery has been dedicated to sake brewing ever since the eleventh generation, starting with the fourth-generation Kunigoro in 1823. The sake's name, "Kotobuki," was formerly pronounced "Kotohogi" and was used in celebrations and ceremonies to wish for longevity. Locally, due to the label design, it is known as Tsuru-Kame-Kotobuki (Crane, Turtle, and Longevity), and has been a long-time favorite among sake connoisseurs.
