Founded in 1725 (Kyoho 10), the brewery has been producing 100% pure rice sake since 2016. They are also committed to using local rice, having revived and cultivated "Kame no O," one of Japan's three major rice varieties, which originated in Shonai Town (Shonai region) in Yamagata Prefecture, to brew their pure rice daiginjo sake.
