This sake brewery is located in the hot spring town of Ureshino in Saga Prefecture. Ide Sake Brewery was founded in 1868, and sake brewing began under Ide Yoshitaro. The sake was named "Toranoko" (Tiger's Child) with the hope that "a tiger has deep compassion for its cubs. We hope that our sake will be enjoyed for a long time, with the same compassion as a tiger's cub. And that our name will resonate far and wide, like a tiger that runs a thousand miles." Due to the nature of the Ureshino region, all of the current brewery staff are tea farmers who grow Ureshino tea outside of the sake brewing season. They use traditional winter brewing methods, and cherish the handmade brewing method, carefully crafting their sake.
