Fukuchiyama is a castle town named and built by Akechi Mitsuhide. Fukuchi Sanmannisenkoku is the flagship product of a sake brewery that carries on tradition. The brand name is said to be derived from a line of the Fukuchiyama Ondo, a dance that has been passed down in Fukuchiyama, and it is popular as Fukuchiyama's only local sake.
