The name is taken from Yasunari Kawabata's novel "The Old Capital." He praised the sake, saying, "The flavor of this sake is the taste of Kyoto," and the brand name, which he personally inscribed during his lifetime, is still used on the packaging today. He enjoyed drinking it at a restaurant in the Gion area while he was living in Tokyo, and became a fan, even visiting our brewery twice. The name "Fukumi-dori" (福実鳥) also carries the meaning of a lucky charm, symbolizing the fruition of fortune.
