The name of their flagship sake, "Rairaku," originates from a line in the Analects of Confucius, a Chinese philosopher: "Is it not a joy to have friends come from afar?" While there are various interpretations, it is generally understood to mean "the greatest pleasure in life is sharing drinks and conversation with friends," and the sake was named as such to reflect its suitability for drinking occasions. Made using sake rice varieties such as Yamada Nishiki, Gohyakumangoku, and Hyogo Kitanishiki, all sourced from Hyogo Prefecture, and pure water, the sake is brewed using techniques passed down for 170 years. From light and crisp Daiginjo to Junmai Ginjo that allows you to fully appreciate the umami of the rice, they offer a wide range of sakes with rare and valuable flavors precisely because they cannot be mass-produced. All of them are said to pair well with local Akashi seafood.
