Product description

Story
Gobashi [Sakai Sake Brewery]Founded in 1871 (Meiji 4), the sake's name "Gokyo" comes from the five-bridge "Kintaikyo" that spans the Nishiki River. In the spring of 1947, at a time when hard water brewing was at its peak, the sake won first place at the National New Sake Tasting Competition for sake brewed with soft water, attracting the attention of those involved. Since then, it has been beloved as a famous sake representing Yamaguchi Prefecture. Based on the belief of "doing the obvious things in an obvious way," this sake is made with a focus on local rice, water, and people in order to be a "local sake of Yamaguchi Prefecture," and is characterized by the delicate and aromatic quality that is unique to soft water brewing.
