花神酒是一款粉紅清酒，以小說《花神》命名，由第四代釀酒師宇都宮重明所著。他曾寫給作家司馬遼太郎一封長達12頁的信，懇求他以小說《花神》命名這款花色清酒。司馬遼太郎欣然應允，並寄來了一張手寫明信片。小說《花神》講述了明治維新時期的愛國人士大村益次郎與菲利普·弗朗茨·馮·西博爾德之女楠本伊根的故事。酒廠位於卯之町，伊根曾在西博爾德的弟子二宮惠作手下學習醫術，而這處地點也與這部小說息息相關。
